Need to Know Report No. 2: Spotlight on Psychiatry Subverted/Amethyst Vritschan Still Held by Erasme Hopital After Blatant Misdiagnosis of Mother

Melanie Vritschan with 2-week-old Baby Amethyst Vritschan, Erasme Hopital, Nov 3, 2017

Melanie Vritschan, human rights advocate and founder of ICATOR, reports that her baby Amethyst Vritschan is still being held in the NeoNatology unit of Erasme Hopital, and that a new court order from the Youth Court or Tribunal de la Jeunesse has decreed that the child be held there for another 30 days while an “appropriate institution be found for her.” The basis of this hold appears to be the blatant and ultimately criminal misdiagnosis of Melanie Vritschan as delusional by the chief Erasme Hopital psychiatrist, Dr. Marie Delhaye, which was ruled as lacking evidence by a judge earlier, who then ordered the release of Ms. Vritschan from Erasme’s Psychiatry Ward on October 25–where she had been wrongfully moved after Dr. Delhaye’s hasty and provably unfounded diagnosis on Oct 19, one day after the birth of her second child–but which ruling is apparently being completely ignored by the Youth Court.

Additionally, the Youth Aide mediating between Erasme and the Youth Court has recommended that Melanie and Amethyst spend a month at a local mother-and-baby psychiatric clinic in order to be kept under close observation in interests of this new  psychiatrist (possibly the seventh in a train of psychiatrists suddenly whipped out to diagnose Melanie) formulating her own diagnosis of Melanie, while intimating–in apparent coercive fashion–that Melanie’s refusal to do so could result in the judge ruling adversely and removing the child from her custody entirely.

This blatant miscarriage of justice, start to finish, which essentially points to medical malpractice and a continuing crime of authoritarian psychiatry against Melanie, Amethyst, Belgian society, and  really, all of  humanity, is explored in this updating conversation with Melanie. Perhaps the question this poses to all of us witnessing this debacle is: why are psychiatrists being permitted to wield this kind of power–of absolute ruination of lives–over people in our society?

On the bright side, Melanie reports that the nurses and Neonatology staff who have been interfacing with her over the past month as she has tried to work with Erasme Hospital procedures and the Youth Court’s conditions–wherein she has been slowly permitted an increasing number of visiting hours with her baby (from one to 3 hours a week to everyday) under the supervision of a child psychologist–can see for themselves that she is perfectly normal and a great mother, and have indeed commended her for smoothing over the traumatic separation endured by Amethyst, who was brutally snatched from her mother’s care one day after her birth and deprived of the warmth and reassuring presence of her mother for two whole weeks on court order.  Working hard to re-bond with her daughter, and to introduce her 8-year-old-son to her daughter–who has been permitted a scant two-half-hours per week to visit his sister–Melanie looks forward to a positive ruling by the Youth Court judge at the end of this second 30-day period where Amethyst is still being held at Erasme Hospital.

Need to Know Report No. 1: Spotlight on Psychiatry Subverted (11/25/2017)

In this premiere edition of the weekly Need to Know Report at my YouTube channel Ramola D Reports, along with guests particle physicist Dr. Katherine Horton and human rights activist Frederic Laroche, we launch the Spotlight on Psychiatry Subverted, a close look at psychiatry worldwide, which seems to be increasingly used these days as a weapon in support of State surveillance and authoritarianism. This edition focuses on French and Belgian psychiatry.

Frederic Laroche updates us on his court case in Grenoble, France, a hearing about a seemingly engineered accident or entrapment operation, whereby he was wrongfully pulled into psychiatry, subjected to forced medication, and given a false diagnosis which now threatens his life and future. (This story was covered in detail earlier in podcasts with Frederic, also reported here earlier.)

Dr. Katherine Horton provides close analysis and commentary on Frederic’s case, raising important questions about the ways in which video evidence from CCTV footage is being ignored, and offering insightful hypotheses regarding the significance of the quick misdiagnoses, dubious record of injuries of the pedestrian who leapt on and then off his car–later accusing him of intentional manslaughter, withholding of the police report, and quick pipelining of him into psychiatry—a deadly move which resulted in his near-paralysis from potent and neurotoxic anti-psychotics given to him at the local psychiatric hospital.

Dr. Horton also provides an update on the case of Melanie Vritschan, human rights advocate and founder of ICATOR, the International Coalition Against Electronic Torture and Robotization of Living Beings, whose newborn was inexplicably snatched from her last month at Erasme Hopital in Brussels, Belgium, by a group of psychiatrists, whose hand in continuing to hold the baby in the Neonatal Unit via the auspices of the Youth Court/Tribunal de la Jeunesse appears evident. Once again, an activist is targeted for her activism; the nature of her work—which exposes the covert operations of Intel agencies and militaries in clandestinely and non-consensually implanting civilians—appears to have been questioned by these psychiatrists, who have displayed an alarming level of either ineptitude or criminality in refusing to examine the scientific evidence of an implant removed from Melanie’s own throat, evidence which puts paid to their wrongful diagnosis of her of being delusional by way of belief in implants—which of course led to their involving the court system and “ordering” the removal of her child from her care.

In both these cases, the role of authoritarian psychiatry needs to be openly questioned.

JIT/Press Release: Melanie Vritschan Released, Newborn Still Held by Erasme Hospital on Separate Court Order

US-EU Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Press Release: For Immediate Distribution Worldwide

Date: October 26, 2017

erasme hopital

L’Hopital Erasme

Melanie Vritschan, the mother of newborn Amethyst Vritschan, founder of ICATOR and member of JIT, who has been held for a week in the Psychiatric Ward of L’Hopital Erasme in Brussels, Belgium, on wrongful charges of being delusional has been released from the hospital on court order by Judge Kristine Hansch (name corrected, 10/31) of the 2nd Canton of Anderlecht, Belgium, who convened a court hearing the morning of October 25.

However, the baby, Amethyst is still being held in the Neonatal ward, and has not been returned to her mother. On questioning the two psychiatrists present at the hearing, Ms. Vritschan was told this was because of the previous court order from a different court, the Youth Tribunal, similar to Family Court, which had separated the mother from the child and “placed” the child for 30 days in Neonatal care.

Both actions, falsely naming Ms. Vritschan delusional and separating her newborn from her care one day after the birth, as well as initiating a brutal detainment, transfer, and CIA-rendition-style interrogation of Ms. Vritschan in another hospital across town past midnight, without recourse to pain medication for her recovering Cesarean scars, had been initiated by these and other Erasme Hopital psychiatrists.

Melanie Vritschan is currently seeking to get her child back in her own care immediately and is exploring her legal options in terms of challenging this Youth Tribunal court order, which had been placed after Erasme Hospital psychiatrists submitted that Ms. Vritschan was delusional and mentally unstable on the basis of hearsay from a nurse-midwife mis-reporting conversations on implants she had had with Dr. Horton, a visitor and friend of Ms. Vritschan’s, as reported earlier.

This false diagnosis of delusions and mental instability was demolished at the hearing by the judge, who enquired whether a mental illness had been ascertained, and was given various attempts at answers which were successively countered. The Erasme Hospital psychiatrists, who had stated at the start of the hearing they were requesting an extended stay for Ms. Vritschan in the Psychiatric Ward of 40 days, the maximum, appeared to be grasping at straws as they first claimed that Ms. Vritschan had showed “emotional detachment” when her child was taken from her earlier, on Oct 19, on what Ms. Vritschan notes was the pretext of her seeming to show signs of jaundice.

Ms. Vritschan spoke up to recount that the psychiatrists had entered her room that day well after her conversation with nurses, where she had questioned their stated need for the baby to be examined for jaundice; the psychiatrists had only witnessed the tail-end of that action, yet had shown themselves willing to jump to conclusions and accuse her of “lack of affect” and detachment when nurses took the baby out of the room, supposedly to show her skin-color to the pediatrician for comment.

The psychiatrists then proclaimed that Ms. Vritschan appeared to believe she was implanted, as reported by the nurse-midwife who had partially attributed Dr. Horton’s statements to Ms. Vritschan and partially fabricated statements about Ms. Vritschan saying “voices” had told her her baby was going to be taken away.

Both Dr. Horton and Ms. Vritschan concurred in that neither had made any mention of voices whatsoever, and that all conversation about implants and foreign objects—which indeed had been medically established to have been found and surgically removed from Ms. Vritschan’s throat—had occurred solely between Dr. Horton and the midwife, and had not included Ms. Vritschan at all. Documentation compiled by Dr. Horton also attested to the fact that part of an implant had indeed been surgically removed and scientifically analyzed.

To the judge’s credit, she noted astutely at this point that people were entitled to their beliefs, when the psychiatrists attempted to rest their readings of Ms. Vritschan’s delusionality on what they tried to characterize as a continued “belief” in implants.

The hearing, it was understood, had been convened to determine three things, if there was a mental illness, if there was refusal of treatment, and whether the patient was being found to be dangerous to herself or others. Since it was now made clear that no mental illness existed, the second was a moot point and the third was easily confirmed as being irrelevant since no-one could claim Ms. Vritschan was a danger to herself or others.

Ms. Vritschan’s father and long-term psychologist were at hand to bear witness to the information presented to the judge, and to vouch for Ms. Vritschan’s character and competence in taking care of her children.

Also notable is the fact that the two psychiatrists present refused to furnish their names on Dr. Horton’s request, and hinted at seismic hospital disruptions engendered by increased attention to the hospital, saying, “You’ve caused enough trouble as it is!”

Were they referring to the international scandal they were instrumental in creating? After recent press releases and worldwide dissemination of the shocking news of this hospital’s medical kidnapping of the newborn, Amethyst, Ms. Vritschan reports the phone has been constantly ringing and nurses have complained that people were calling in to the Psychiatric Ward and yelling at them.

Perhaps the international attention has succeeded in notifying this hospital in a major European country that its actions here in separating a mother from her child and maltreating the mother cannot go unnoticed.

Members of the Joint Investigation Team and Alfred Webre, who hosted webinars featuring Dr. Horton and Ms. Vritschan and posted news of this incident on his world-renowned website platform, Newsinsideout.com, have been contacted by many concerned residents and true-media journalists both from Europe and the USA, keen to help. Many responded to the calls to write or call the hospital.

Now with the situation continuing unresolved and the baby still being held by the hospital—on an edict from a family court tribunal succeeding actions of haste and incompetence at best and intentional malice at worst from Erasme hospital psychiatrists claiming delusionality on hearsay—continuing to keep the spotlight on Erasme Hospital and the Belgian Youth Tribunal may be in order.

Those interested in helping are encouraged to write to the Director-General of the hospital, the Director of Communications, and anyone else whom they think can intervene here and restore Amethyst to her mother immediately. Please also notify organizations working for the rights of children and the newborn. Please cover, please share this information with other media outlets and contacts.
