Many investigators call on us today to re-think 9/11, which led our government to sign the repressive Patriot Act and other repressive legislation, and thence to embark on extremely intrusive and warrantless surveillance/censorship subverting and violating the US Constitution, among other covert and clandestine COINTELPRO harassment activities aimed at American activists, writers, journalists, peace groups, and communities. This directly affects our democracy. Today all we have to do is ask ourselves: are we living in a democracy with freedom and individual rights, or are we living in a totalitarian or militarized state with illegitimate controls on our individual rights and liberties?
