Restoring Democracy

Organizations                       Petitions                        Re-Think 9/11

This page lists organizations working hard to restore democracy to the US through amending the US Constitution, reifying the Bill of Rights, getting rid of corruption in Congress, ensuring that money is not speech, and affirming that government is accountable to We the People, not a clique of corporations.

Click on each org’s link to directly access their Action page and take online action to add your voice to their wonderful campaigns, whether it is to contact your members of Congress or sign a meaningful petition.

In each case, each time you visit an org, don’t forget to sign up by email for their Action Alerts, follow them on Twitter, connect with them on Facebook. That way you can easily keep on top of what they are working on, and take simple online actions regularly to support their work–and add your valuable voice to theirs.

News and petitions will also be linked here.

The Bill of Rights Defense Committee (BORDC) is a national non-profit, non-partisan organization working to restore the rule of law and our constitutional rights and liberties. They have a terrific action page listing some very concrete ways you can make a difference; especially look at their Raise Your Voice Online link.

Public Citizen advocates for a healthier and more equitable world by making government work for the people and by defending democracy from corporate greed. You can help. Public Citizen was started by Ralph Nader and is currently headed by Robert Weissman. They are a large organization, and their campaigns are very effective. See their Action Center for a list of really encouraging accomplishments.
